HYDERABAD: An IPS trainee allegedly attempted suicide after a female colleague filed a complaint accusing him of forcing her to continue their relationship even after her marriage. The trainee, Uday Krishna Reddy, consumed poison at a friend's house. He is currently under treatment.

The complaint was filed by the 30-year-old woman, who is also a trainee at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad. She alleged that she had been in a relationship with Uday Krishna and that he pressured her to continue it even after she got married.

In a two-page suicide note, Uday Krishna denied all the allegations against him. He claimed that the woman continued to maintain contact with him even after her marriage. He further alleged that on July 9, 2026, she forcefully entered his room, hugged and kissed him, and told him that she had strong sexual feelings for him. He claimed that he had repeatedly asked her not to visit his room and had shared chat messages with her husband as proof. According to the note, the complaint was filed at the instigation of the woman's friends. He also alleged that the chats he had shared with her husband were misrepresented.

Meanwhile, the woman has denied all the allegations made by Uday Krishna. In her complaint, she accused him of stalking and assaulting her. She also alleged that he secretly recorded private videos without her consent, sent her sexually explicit messages on WhatsApp, made inappropriate remarks in front of colleagues, and forcibly took her mobile phone to check her private chats. She further alleged that Uday Krishna took her to his room, threatened her, attempted to strangle her, and tried to touch her inappropriately without her consent.

Police said an investigation has been launched into the allegations. They said further action will be taken based on the evidence collected. Investigators have also recorded the statement of Uday Krishna, who remains under medical observation at the hospital.
